The Brickwall is one man you don’t want to mess with

The Early Days

The Brickwall joined the DWO back in 1996 and quickly gained the respect of many of the veteran wrestlers. He moved right up the company and became the world and I.C. champion in record time. The Brickwall originally wrestled under the name THE MAGIC STAR.

It was the S.C.W.A at the time when Wall joined the company and just after one week he would be entered into the 1996 Rumble. Earlier in the week just before the Rumble in 1996 Wall would team with Alex the Maniac which would lead to the formation of one of the most successful teams in the history of the company. He would
go on to win the Intercontinental title at the 1996 Rumble and came down to the final 3 in the rumble main event itself he then eliminated himself from the match to let his partner Alex the Maniac go one on one with long time enemy Nick the Slick Trick.

Over his time in the company he held every title within his weight limit that he could win. For most of his time in the wrestling Brickwall was the tag team partner of Alex the Maniac. When Alex had his bad times it was the Brickwall who was there to help him through them. The Mega Maniacs were a team that started long before Wall came to the company but Alex was without a partner for a long time and wall fell right into place as his partner. The mega Maniacs also had a 4 man team as well on the side which has had different members over the years but one thing is for sure any wrestler that gets to be a part of this group has got to be a person to keep your eye on only the best of the best have ever been chosen to join the team over the years with people like Stingray, Alex the Maniac, The Brickwall, Matt The Maniac, Jumpin John just to name a few people who have been a part of the team. Alex being the only person to Always be a part of
the team as it was his creation. The Brickwall has had multiple titles in the wrestling including the Intercontinental and the World Heavy Weight Title.

Breaking Down The Wall

Blood Bash 1998 a show that showed just what the Brickwall was made of. At that show Alex and the Brickwall would go head to head 2 times in one night once for the I.C. title and once for the world. Alex took the win over the Brickwall in the I.C. title match but was unable to beat his partner for the world title. Alex also had a number of other matches that night and some
people said that was why he was unable to beat the wall a remark that would later haunt the Brickwall as he would later push to prove that he could beat Alex regardless of what contention he was in. The Wall would leave the company for a bit of time after the 98 blood bash. He took the rest of the year off and didn’t return until 1999.He remained a part of the backstage team during his off time but when he returned in 1999 something seemed off with the Wall. Angry and unfocused the Wall would begin a low point in his wrestling career. Since the end of 1999 Brickwall seemed distant and didn’t show up to events as much. In Late 99 Maniac and Wall would go head to head for the world title once again this time again the Wall took the win over Maniac after a very close match up. It seemed as though Wall had never got over the fact that the maniac had won the I.C title off of him at Blood Bash 98 though and Wall would continue to fight for the I.C title with anyone who had it proclaiming it was HIS TITLE. The I.C title of course has a lot of meaning to the Brickwall as it was the first title he ever held in the DWO and The Maniac was the first person ever to beat him for it which some say caused some issues within the team.

Just Another Brick In the Wall

In 2002 the Tag team Champs Alex The Maniac and THE BRICKWALL finally split up when after a hard match Alan turned his back on Alex. The Brickwall had been saying for a few years that the Maniac was getting to old to wrestle and that he was just slowing down the team claiming that he could have done it all without the Maniac. This was actually the second time the team would split up they had a minor falling out back in 2001 when the RBW was first put together wall would work a few RBW shows before he returned to the DWO. During 2001 they worked harder then ever to fight off Damage Inc. a team that was quickly making a mark in the company. But in 2002 Wall would leave not only his partner Alex the Maniac but he would also leave the DWO joining the RBW and becoming business partners with Vandal-X as the new president of the RBW. This was a shock to everyone even though people knew maniac and wall where having problems seeing him join former damage inc wrestler Vandal-x after there long hatred for each other just seemed out of place. His stay in RBW was short lived and Brickwall soon left the wrestling world behind completely. He would disappear from the world of wrestling for a number of months with no word of plans to return.

On The DWO weekly Thursday night show on Sept.19th 2002 it was announced that the Brickwall would be returning to now work for the CWA (the company Alex The Maniac had recently brought back). a big surprise to the wrestling world that his return world be to work for Alex the Maniac seeing that when he left the wrestling him and Alex had gone to opposite sides.
So what did this mean for the mega maniacs lets recap what went on
From 2000 and more so in 2001 it seemed as if there where troubles in the tag team Mega Maniacs as the Brickwall claimed he had carried the team and started to get jealous of all the attention that was given to Alex the maniac. The Brickwall and Alex went there separate ways in 2002 as The Brickwall wanted to prove he made it as far as he did on his own and he turned his back on Alex at a event in 2002 and joined the RBW but by that time it appeared his career was coming to its end. His in ring time seemed practically non existent at the end of 02 and then the Brickwall just disappeared. He returned a few months later and rejoined the DWO once again but that was short lived before he once again turned his back on Alex and went back to the RBW.

The Future of the Brickwall

The Brickwall after a number of company jumps from DWO to RBW to CWA to RBW to DWO to RBW
Would finally stay with the RBW and it seemed like The Brickwall was starting to have a second life in the ring at the middle of 2003 as he found himself united with the group the ELITE. Now with this new group of wrestlers tearing up the wrestling it appeared the mega Maniacs where a part of the past and would never return and the Wall would go on his longest time as a bad guy in the history of his career. But then again at Blood Bash 2003 things would explode after a night of complete chaos and utter hell in the DWO a number of wrestlers left the company Brickwall before leaving though turned to Alex and apologized for what was about to happen and showed his respect to his former partner for what was thought to be the last time. The DWO would continue to do small shows for the next few years with a limited roster before kicking back into high gear in 2006 when the Brickwall made a grand return with new tag team partner Cinderblock to form a team known as Concrete inc. this team was short lived however and the Brickwall would go it alone for the rest of the 2006 season. In 2007 The Brickwall and the Maniac once again teamed up to reform the Mega Maniacs for the first time since 2002. Things were unclear throughout the season if the tension with the two members of the team were really gone as Wall and Maniac would come to the ring separately for there tag matches and seemed to have some communication issues during there matches. Wall has since then left the company for some time off he has not quit and has not been fired but is currently being listed as Inactive. He has moved out of RI and may make a appearance in the future but that is all speculation only time will tell if there is anything more left to the story of the BRICKWALL Alan Main. Regardless of his future he will always be remembered in the DWO as The Man who ended many wrestlers careers the man who was known for destroying the competition. DWO wished the best of luck to the Brickwall with whatever he does from here on out and who knows if you have seen the last of the Wall only time will tell.
